that is all good... but what about linux support for Google Drive?
my impression is that google is trying to jeopardize all cloud-based services in the world. Linux support has lower priority (sigh)
It's not exactly like that: Google permits more native support for Google Drive in Linux with APIs, for example there is support in Gnome 3 and by means of Insync.
Thank you! Thank you!! This is excellent.Any chance we can get it going the other way also? Somthing ala "Gmail Attachments To Drive"https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/gmail-attachments-to-driv/epoohehjbaenldfbahgcegdmlogakgin
IMPORTANT: what if i want to send the file "as attachment", without sharing further changes?? is that option available? is it under the "send without sharing" menu? or that menu is to send THE MAIL without attaching the file? or is it under the "more options" menu? CONFUSING...
brilliant. the future of emailing files.
Wow...Now we can send large file and mail in one face. Thanks for the brilliant idea :)
Thanks a lot, now I don't have to use other unreliable sites.
Great news, thanks!
This will be a great succes !
Thanks! Please add a "notify me when file is downloaded by recipient" option.
Sounds great to prevent future issues. However for now my Apps Gmail account says: "96% full - Using 24.2 GB of your 25 GB" and no one at Google can fix this existing problem. With the introduction of Drive the option to increase your Gmail account size limit has disappeared :( (http://goo.gl/ZwyOR).Time is ticking and I want to stick to this old slogan that did it for me: "you’ll never need to delete another message.” Help Google, help!
Thank you google!BTW... Drive team, if you search for "Google Drive Blog" on Google.... nothing comes up?????? Might want to fix that... You have to go to the Google Docs blog and then link to the Google Drive blog.
great integration! Can't wait to try it.attachments.me is a chrome gmail plugin that does the exact same thing. It also goes the other way, attachments -> gdrive.
I don't see the icon...
and I've been 'preaching' gor the last seven years 'attachments are OUT'. now they're back ...
Nice work, if only it could be integrated in google sync for Outlook.
Amazing feature! I was waiting for that since I start using Gdocs (2008). Just one issue: why do not allow the option to send gdrive files as "tipical email attachment"?

This is great! You should also include an option to make it work the other way, I mean sending files from your mails into google drive.
Thank you guys for this feature but as it is now, i find it annoying and confusing. If i want to share files with other people, i am already able to do this with Google Drive. When i send a file as an email attachment, it is likely because i don't want to share it nor having to manage any access permissions about it. I agree that sending a copy of a document to someone is sharing that document in some way, but it is still not exactly the same thing. I.e, i could be willing to give a copy of a file to someone representing it's state at some point in time, but not willing to give access to all the further updates i would do to that file.So please Google scrap this mandatory sharing thing with attachment from Google Drive. It could be nice as an option to manage things faster, but it seems natural that i could attach a file from my Google Drive storage without sharing it.
Anyone knows how make faster the upload/download of gigafile (i.e. by an FTP server defined by Google services)Thanks
